Why Remove EXIF Data from Photos?
Every photo you take with your smartphone or camera contains hidden metadata called EXIF data. This can include your exact GPS location, device information, date and time, and even your name if configured.
What Data Gets Removed
The tool re-encodes supported images through Canvas, which normally omits common EXIF fields such as GPS, camera, and timestamp tags. It is not a forensic metadata sanitizer; verify the exported file before sharing.
Local re-encoding and verification
The page reads and re-encodes the selected image locally without uploading it to a SimpleTaskTools endpoint. Browser extensions, downloaded files, and device security remain outside the tool’s control.
