Why Remove PDF Metadata?
Every PDF document can contain hidden metadata including author name, software used to create it, creation and modification dates, and custom properties. This information can reveal your identity when sharing documents.
What Gets Removed
Our cleaner removes all standard PDF metadata fields: title, author, subject, keywords, creator application, producer, and all timestamps. The resulting PDF contains no identifying information.
Local processing and limits
The tool rewrites selected metadata fields locally without uploading the PDF to a SimpleTaskTools endpoint. It is not a forensic sanitizer and may not remove embedded files, annotations, visible content, revision history, or every metadata stream.
